I have two dreams for this final apocalyptic year: The first is to drop beats at as many beer throwin, shit showin, STD knowin HOR parties as I can. My sets at those are pretty much, “You like Maybach music? Great I like Maybach music. Here’s a ton of that. Everyone wins (especially if they can’t remember.) The other dichotomous dream is to continue pushing the ever loving shit out of my career as a mind warping, bass crunching, wonk…e…ing (I don’t know), future bass DJ. Fortunately this Friday will be another chance for me to pump the zygote of that species.

This Friday, at Backbar in DC, (Conveniently located in the sex dungeon of the 9:30 Club), R4NS0M and DENMAN (oh, hey, that’s me refering to myself in the third person) will be dropping the finest in future bass, grime, footwork, UK/Deep dubstep, and drum n bass (go MetalHeadz or go home), so roll the most Louisville slugger of a blunt your foodstamps can acquire (filled with totally legal tobacco of course), and come freak the fuck out to some dirty bass in space. Turnout has been damn good so far, and we’d love to keep the momentum going. Why not be a winner, and peep the facebook event?

I’m really excited on Sunday to go out and support a cause in DC that needs to be put on major blast. The other week, DC police raided the Capital Hemp store in Adams Morgan and ended up arresting 6 employes and a customer. Really? A customer!? Someone who possibly wanted to pop inside, support local a DC business, and gets arrested!? Gestapo much? If that doesn’t raise your eyebrow of sensibility, how about the timing in which the raid went down? According to the Huffington Post article, the raid went down about the same time one of the owners called for an Occupy Adams Morgan rally to voice themselves about another shady ass $46 Million dollar tax break that the Marriot Hotel got considering the city has a fuckin $440 million dollar deficit. It’s not hard to connect the dots here and personally I think between this fuckery and everything going on with Wall St, Banks, Politicians, or even just that boss you may know that certain people hustle their way to a certain career position then take everything they can at the expense of the people “below them” and will destroy anyone who interferes with the cash river. Whoa…. did I just to an editorial?

Mixtape Monday ft. “The Fall Mix 2011″ by Willy Joy

Morning, yall. If you feel anything like me right now, your head is still pounding from all that Jameson you drank this weekend and your morals are lookin’ a bit questionable. But I’m saying…why stop the party? Let’s keep it movin’ and groovin’ with a bunch of tunes to send you into some violently drunken flashbacks of your weekend. Don’t be scared.

This week I’ve got an hour-long mix from Willy Joy, a DC-via-Chicago resident. This is a mix he made specifically for this fall (hence, the title) and since we’re knee-deep in autumnal glory, I figured it’d be a good time to get yall familiar with this one. (pronounced /ˌmoom-ba-con ma-siv\) El cuatro de Septiembre – That’s a little insider talk for SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 4TH, ROCK & ROLL HOTEL the greatest gathering of music and swine lovers throughout the area will unite for an event so epic, scholars will look back and refer to it as the Moombacon Massive 2011. TV Party DC, One Love Massive, Steez Promo, and the Head of Rothchild have combined forces to bring you a lineup of DJ’s that are certified party smashers that will dish out raging from open to close. Baltimore Club legend Scottie B along with King Tutt, Uncle Jesse, and James Nasty will be waving the Bmore flag throughout the night. Reppin DC is Smudge, Keenan, Denman, and that dude Rothchild. Expect to hear nothing but the best cuts of Club, Moombahton, Dubstep, Hip Hop, and other goodies from the area’s best.

If that hasn’t pushed all your chips into the middle of the table I’ve decided to up the ante being this is my 30th birthday party. DJ 814ofcourse and I are firing up the bacon cannon with stacks and stack of FREE BACON. DOn’t dig on swine? How dare you, luckily we are bringing in FREE FRIED CHICKEN. The bird is indeed, the word. Also, for any of you sailors out there fear not, for we are also giving away FREE CONDOMS. I don’t know if people still use these rubber cockblockers but you’re more than welcome to them. If not, we plan on using them as balloon decorations anyway.

This is also a get together to kick off the re-launch for this very Blog. September 6th we are giving the place an extreme makeover along with new contributors and weekly bits for your media consumption. It would mean the world to me to see all of your swine loving faces there as we tell Summer to fuck off in glorious H.O.R. fashion. In trying to go above in beyond I do have sad news to report that Ziplok, Atrophy, and Silver G have all declined to appear. Maybe next time……
